description

Hi Guys

I cant get Silverlight 5 to work with SMF 2.6. Below is the error message I get

Could not load file or assembly 'System.ComponentModel.Composition, Version=2.0.5.0.

Note: If I remove the SMF 2.6 control my Silverlight application work fine.

I have the same problem - looks like a bug to me!

Setup: Visual Studio 2010 with SP1, with SMF 2.6 installed from msi package, Silverlight 5.
Set references to Microsoft.SilverlightMediaFramework.Core, Plugins, Utilities
If you don't also set a reference to System.ComponentModel.Composition, you will get an initialization error. However after you set it, everything looks good but a video in the Playlist will never play. It will work fine in Silverlight 4.

thanks, Tom

This looks like the same problem reported in http://smf.codeplex.com/workitem/21942

You can easily reproduce the problem by using the environment desribed above, and then following the instructions at http://smf.codeplex.com/documentation

Why is this marked resolved? I have this exact issue and I've tried everything suggested to get the video to play, but it just won't. Visual Studio 2013, latest SMF libs and latest Microsoft.Web.Media.SmoothStreaming.dll 2.0.0. Code attached

Tried everything from

https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/silverlight/en-US/21483c25-cfe6-441a-9e04-5dab9b68fa9f/smfplayer-error?forum=silverlightdevtools

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8562937/are-there-any-known-compatibility-issues-with-microsoft-media-platform-player-f

If nobody can offer a fix, I'd really like to revert to the prior version of SMF because I've see it working. I just can't locate the DLLs. This is some of the older syntax

Anybody know how to get an older version?
