SMFPlayer / Playready / DRM

Apr 27, 2012 at 7:16 PM

Hi,

my scenario:
I have many videos in ".wmv" which can be accessed by many users using SMFPlayer.
Users can access the videos by the direct url (via Firebug...) and copy and distribute content.
Does anyone have any idea of structure using DRM / PlayReady for my scenario?
I need basic information and if possible any way to test protected content.
Note I do not have the PlayReady Server to testing.
Thanks a lot!

Hi,

Do you wan't to only allow people who have paid for the video to see it, or what is the plan?

Hi Loke,
The plan is only allow people who have paid for the video can see it, only see and not copying.
Thank you so much.

Hi,

That is definately possible with the PlayReady server SDK. We do something like that, and from the silverlight player pass credentials onto the PlayReady server that validates them before issuing the license. Have you licensed the PlayReady server?

I still do not have a Playready server, is there any version for developers?

Thanks

Hi

The development tools are part of licensing the server software. You could also engage with a service provider in order to achieve this. You are welcome to contact me, as i work for a PlayReady SP and we provide this sort of service for a bunch of customers. My email is loke@xstream.dk
