Hi All,

I want to used IIS smooth streaming with SMF player.

For that i have endcode my video file using Expression encoding 4.0. (Created with Expression Encoder version 4.0.1639.0)

I put below code in my silverlight application  and it is not play the video.

 <Core:SMFPlayer Grid.Row="2" Height="300" Width="500">
     <Core:SMFPlayer.Playlist>
         <media:PlaylistItem DeliveryMethod="AdaptiveStreaming" MediaSource="http://realworldmedia.tv/rwmweb/video/iisss/CTHS2_Promo.ism/Manifest"/>
     </Core:SMFPlayer.Playlist>
</Core:SMFPlayer>

Now i put some other source file which encoding is done on Expression Encoding 2.0 and it is work, Please see below working mediasource. (Created with Expression Encoder version 2.1.1216.0)

<Core:SMFPlayer Grid.Row="2" Height="300" Width="500">
     <Core:SMFPlayer.Playlist>
           <media:PlaylistItem DeliveryMethod="AdaptiveStreaming" MediaSource="http://video3.smoothhd.com.edgesuite.net/ondemand/Big%20Buck%20Bunny%20Adaptive.ism/Manifest"/>
    </Core:SMFPlayer.Playlist>
</Core:SMFPlayer>

 the only different is  i change the media source.

for first mediasource expression encoder version would be 4.0 and for second mediasource expression encoder version would be 2.0

 Can you please help me where i am worng? it is issue of Expression encoding version or not ? and if yes then what is the supported version of SMF player for expression encoder version 4.0

Thanks,

Hiren Andharia

Hi

I have no prioblems using the player with content encoded using Expression Encoder 4. Are you sure there isn't something else wrong? Like the files got renamed or somesuch?
