I use this example http://smf.codeplex.com/wikipage?title=Embed%20Progressive%20Download%20Player&referringTitle=SMF%20v2%20%22How%20To%22%20Documentation to recieve wmv stream from a server. It works on desktop PC, but on windows phone 7 (version 7.0.7004.0) player requires installation of silverlight 4.

How can I use this player on windows phone 7 from web browser? Is it possible to start the built-in player on windows phone from browser?

Realman, Silverlight for the web (running within the browser) is not currently supported on WP7. To use SMF you will need to create and deploy an app.

Allow me to jump in.

Do you know if it will be anytime soon?

To use SMF you will need to create and deploy an app.

How do I do that?  Thanks a lot.

MunCC, I've heard rumors in the blogosphere (e.g. http://news.cnet.com/8301-10805_3-20025738-75.html) about support for running SL apps inside the WP7 browser but have never heard one way or another if any of this is true. We'll just have to wait and see.

As far as creating a WP7 app that uses SMF, there is a very quick tutorial at the bottom of the page: http://smf.codeplex.com/documentation

Hope that helps,
