Customising Captions

Dec 13, 2010 at 9:14 AM

Is it possible to change the font and anything else about the subtitles?  If I try and edit the data template in Blend it defaults to adding a CaptionBlockRegion but throws a error in Blend which means I can't explore the CaptionBlockRegion.

The documentation is of course 'evolving' so is of little help.  How can I edit the template for CaptionBlockRegion if it wont open in Blend?  Does anyone else get this problem or is it just me doing something wrong?

Thanks for any help.

For anyone in the same situation it seems you can't customise the CaptionBlockRegion itself.  It's style is taken from the captions themselves and applied the CaptionBlock.  You can change the LayoutTemplate of the CaptionsPresenter which of course affects the size the CaptionBlockRegion, but padding, background color etc. still come from the captions themselves.

Through the captions you should be able to set the following (I've not experimented with these, just grabed them from the SMF source code):

BackgroundColor
Color
DisplayAlign
Extent
FontFamily
FontSize
FontStyle
FontWeight
LineHeight
Opacity
Origin
Overflow
Padding
ShowBackground
TextAlign
Visibility
WrapOption

I hope this helps someone.
